ThunderTalk Gaming vs LGD Gaming Game 3 Draft Analysis: Can TT Survive LGD’s Explosive Red Side?
An in-depth LPL Game 3 draft breakdown of ThunderTalk Gaming versus LGD Gaming, covering compositions, key picks, draft edge, and prediction.
Compositions
ThunderTalk Gaming drafted a composition built around front-to-back stability, reliable protection, and Jax scaling. Keshi’s Jax is the primary side-lane win condition, while Junhao’s Skarner gives TT a durable engage tool that can also isolate a key target with Impale. Heru’s Locke adds mid-lane control and follow-up damage, and the Lucian–Milio pairing gives Ahn and Feather a strong platform for sustained teamfight DPS.
The central question for TT is whether they can reach their preferred fight structure. Lucian wants room to attack safely, Milio wants to keep him alive through the first burst, and Skarner needs a clean angle rather than a chaotic fight. If TT can establish vision first and force LGD to walk into them, their composition has the tools to peel, re-engage, and let Jax threaten the back line from a flank.
LGD Gaming chose a far more volatile red-side draft. Shaoye’s Draven creates immediate pressure around bot lane, while Heng’s Qiyana and Crisp’s Camille give LGD multiple ways to punish isolated targets. Tangyuan’s Syndra provides pick potential and burst from range, and Burdol’s Gnar supplies the frontline and crowd control necessary to convert a successful engage into a decisive fight.
LGD do not need a long, orderly game. Their ideal scenario is a messy early map in which Draven cashes in, Qiyana finds river flanks, and Camille locks down either Lucian or Locke before Milio can reset the fight.
Key Picks
Draven is the most important early-game pick in the draft. Shaoye’s lane priority can give LGD first access to dragon setups, invades, and early tower pressure. However, Draven is also a high-risk carry into Skarner, Camille-like lockdown from his own support matchup, and Jax’s eventual dive threat. If he fails to convert stacks, LGD’s damage profile becomes much less forgiving.
Skarner is TT’s draft anchor. Junhao can deny Qiyana’s freedom in river fights and create a direct answer to Draven’s short-range positioning. A single successful Impale can remove LGD’s main damage dealer before Gnar can create a Mega Gnar counter-engage.
For LGD, Qiyana is the highest-ceiling pick. Heng can exploit TT’s relatively immobile back line, especially if Milio’s defensive cooldowns are forced early. Qiyana’s ultimate also makes dragon and Baron entrances dangerous for a team that wants to group tightly around Lucian.
Draft Edge
LGD have the sharper early-game draft edge. Draven, Qiyana, Syndra, and Camille can generate kills before TT’s scaling pieces become comfortable. Their draft has more immediate pick tools and stronger punishment against poor vision control.
TT own the more dependable 5v5 scaling structure. Milio dramatically improves Lucian’s ability to survive burst, while Skarner and Jax give TT both engage and split-push flexibility. If the game remains close after the early objectives, LGD may struggle to play through a protected Lucian and a Jax who can threaten either side lane.
Prediction
LGD should control the opening tempo if Shaoye and Crisp secure bot priority, but TT’s composition is easier to execute once fights become organized. The decisive factor is Draven’s first cash-in: if LGD convert it into objectives and vision control, their snowball can overwhelm TT.
If TT avoid early deaths and force standard front-to-back fights, Skarner and Milio should neutralize much of LGD’s assassination pressure. Prediction: ThunderTalk Gaming win Game 3 in a close, scaling-driven game.
