Karmine Corp vs Natus Vincere Game 1 Draft Analysis: Vi-Shen Engage Meets Cassiopeia Control
An in-depth LEC Game 1 draft analysis of Karmine Corp versus Natus Vincere, covering compositions, key picks, draft edge, and prediction.
Compositions
Karmine Corp drafted a direct, layered teamfight composition with several ways to start fights and a powerful follow-up damage core. Canna’s Gnar, Yike’s Vi, and Busio’s Shen form the frontline and engage package, while kyeahoo’s Syndra and Caliste’s Viktor offer reliable burst, zone control, and scaling damage. This composition wants to create decisive picks around objectives, force Natus Vincere into narrow corridors, and convert one caught target into a full teamfight win.
Natus Vincere chose a more conditional but highly dangerous control composition. Maynter’s Rumble and Poby’s Cassiopeia are exceptional in confined objective areas, especially when Equalizer and Miasma deny escape routes. Rhilech’s Jarvan IV supplies the engage that can lock Karmine Corp inside that damage, while Parus’s Bard creates pick opportunities and unusual flank angles. SamD’s Ezreal gives the lineup safe poke and can avoid much of Karmine Corp’s initial engage, but he must consistently contribute damage before fights fully begin.
The central contrast is simple: Karmine Corp have cleaner initiation and more dependable front-to-back execution, while Natus Vincere have stronger terrain punishment. If fights happen around dragon pits or jungle chokes, Rumble and Cassiopeia can turn Jarvan IV’s engage into a devastating wombo combination.
Key Picks
Vi is the draft’s most important proactive pick. Yike has an uncomplicated target-access tool against Ezreal and can force SamD to use Arcane Shift defensively. Once Ezreal’s mobility is gone, Shen can join the play, while Syndra and Viktor can quickly finish the isolated target.
Cassiopeia is Natus Vincere’s major answer. Miasma is especially valuable against Vi because it can interrupt her ability to reposition after committing. It also limits Gnar’s access and makes Karmine Corp’s engage sequence much less clean. Poby’s Petrifying Gaze can punish the predictable angles of Vi’s ultimate or a Gnar flank.
Busio’s Shen is an interesting flex-style support choice in practical terms. Stand United gives Karmine Corp cross-map insurance for Vi’s early ganks and lets Caliste’s Viktor play a safer side lane later. However, Shen’s limited lane pressure may give Bard more room to roam and set up Jarvan IV.
Draft Edge
Karmine Corp hold the slight draft edge because their win condition is clearer and easier to execute. Vi point-and-click engage, Shen reinforcement, and Viktor’s area control create a stable framework for mid-game objective fights. Their damage profile is also balanced enough that Natus Vincere cannot itemize simply against one threat.
Natus Vincere’s draft has the higher punishment ceiling. A Bard ultimate onto Viktor or Syndra, followed by Jarvan IV, Rumble, and Cassiopeia, can instantly decide a fight. Yet that combination demands tighter timing, stronger vision control, and disciplined positioning from SamD.
Prediction
Karmine Corp should be favored if Yike finds early access to Ezreal or Bard and prevents Natus Vincere from establishing river control. Expect Karmine Corp to use Vi-Shen pressure to create early tempo, then rely on Viktor and Syndra to control later objectives.
Natus Vincere can win through decisive flank engages and superior setup around chokepoints, but Karmine Corp’s composition is more forgiving. Prediction: Karmine Corp win Game 1 through cleaner engage execution and stronger objective fights.
