Jd Gaming 50%50% Lyon (2024 American Team)

Compositions

JD Gaming’s blue-side draft is built around proactive skirmishing, pick threat, and explosive follow-up. JunJia’s Poppy gives the team reliable early-pathing stability while creating a direct answer to Jarvan IV’s engage and Bard’s roaming routes. With Orianna in the middle lane, JD Gaming can turn any successful Poppy stun, Pyke hook, or Jayce poke sequence into a devastating wombo-combo fight.

The carry structure is especially dangerous. GALA’s Kai'Sa has excellent access to backline targets after initial crowd control lands, while Xiaoxu’s Jayce provides lane pressure and long-range poke before objectives. Vampire’s Pyke makes the composition much more volatile: JD Gaming do not need to wait for a conventional front-to-back teamfight if they can create numbers advantages through vision traps and river picks.

LYON (2024 American Team) drafted a more unusual but potentially powerful red-side composition. Berserker’s Caitlyn and Saint’s Ziggs create substantial siege and poke potential, particularly around towers and neutral objectives. Dhokla’s Anivia can control choke points, punish aggressive dives, and make it difficult for JD Gaming to escape after committing. Inspired’s Jarvan IV supplies the primary engage, while Isles’ Bard can create unexpected picks or enable cross-map plays through roams.

Key Picks

Poppy is the central denial pick for JD Gaming. Jarvan IV wants to force access to Kai'Sa and Orianna with Cataclysm, but Poppy can interrupt his entry or deny follow-up movement. Her W is also highly relevant against Bard’s Magical Journey, limiting LYON’s ability to use terrain creatively during contested objectives.

Pyke is the highest-variance pick in the game. Vampire can be punished if LYON establish lane control with Caitlyn and Bard, but Pyke’s presence changes every fog-of-war situation. If he finds hooks onto Ziggs or Caitlyn, JD Gaming’s burst damage can erase LYON’s siege tools before a fight develops.

For LYON, Anivia is the draft’s most important stabilizer. Dhokla can wall off Kai'Sa’s angles, split JD Gaming’s formation, and force them to approach through predictable corridors. If LYON reach later fights with vision and setup, Anivia’s zone control alongside Ziggs can be extremely difficult to break.

Draft Edge

JD Gaming have the clearer all-purpose draft. Their champions offer engage, disengage, poke, pick potential, and strong follow-up damage without requiring a single narrow win condition. Orianna also improves every aggressive decision from Poppy, Pyke, Kai'Sa, and Jayce.

LYON’s composition has sharper tools in a prepared siege, but it is less forgiving. Caitlyn and Ziggs need space to poke, while Anivia needs time and terrain control to shape fights. Jarvan IV’s engage can start winning fights, yet it can also become dangerous if he traps his own team inside Orianna’s ultimate range.

The lane-state question is critical. If Berserker and Isles gain early bot pressure, LYON can secure plates and establish vision for their poke composition. If JD Gaming survive that lane cleanly, their superior mid-game skirmish tools should increasingly dictate the map.

Prediction

JD Gaming should hold the draft advantage because they can attack LYON before the siege composition is fully established. Expect JunJia and Vampire to pressure river vision, with HongQ ready to convert isolated catches into decisive objective fights.

LYON’s path is clear but demanding: protect Caitlyn and Ziggs, use Anivia to control entrances, and force JD Gaming to walk into poke. If they cannot maintain that structure, Kai'Sa and Pyke can repeatedly punish their immobile carries. Prediction: JD Gaming win Game 1 through mid-game pick pressure and cleaner objective setups.
